AKC approved the revision of its divisions, now showing Division 8 as Oregon and Washington only.  Effective May 13th, the point schedule for Great Pyrenees is as follows:

1 point: 2 dogs / 2 bitches

2 points: 4 dogs / 5 bitches

3 points: 5 dogs / 7 bitches

4 points: 6 dogs / 9 bitches

5 points: 9 dogs / 14 bitches

SWEEPSTAKES & FUTURITY JUDGES

Effective January 1, 2009, Sweepstakes and futurity judges may NOT exhibit within 200 miles of an assignment on the day of any assignment(s).  They will continue to be allowed to exhibit the day before and the day after the event they judge. The new ruling states that a multi-day specialty is considered ONE event, and that the restriction will apply for the duration of said event.

Previously, AKC held that two events, with separate event numbers, being held by the same club on successive days, was considered as totally separate events. However, one would do well to confirm that point prior to risking suspension.
